The Brewery Museum

The brewery museum is the only museum of its type in the world and it is housed in the Brewery house. The house has been preserved in its original appearance, consequently visitors can see the Gothic malt-house with a well, the malt drying kiln, the roller, the refrigeration room, the two-level cellars and the area of the former taproom. Hundreds of unique exhibits document the history of beer brewing from ancient times to the present. The development of the beer drinking culture is represented by the exhibition of two pubs – the country pub originating in the 19th century and the town pub originating at the beginning of the 20th century. One of the oldest Pilsen ale-houses, called Parkán, is located in the neighbourhood of the Brewery museum. Its name is derived from its location in the area between the medieval town fortifications, the so-called parkan area.
